Creative streaming is both fun and exhausting at times. Even with a lower average viewership and moderate chatting it can take a lot of work to pull off. Preparation time for
#art or creative streams is right up there. If you are streaming creative, cheers and thank you for taking the time to do what you do and share it.
One interesting thing I notice about creative is that we experience wildly different community growth than other streaming categories. New viewers are often pleasantly surprised by what they find. In creative, growth is usually organic and community driven. Contrast this with the popularity of specific games.
Note: There are always exceptions. Though, I believe the above is true for most of us and if you are new to
#creative don't be discouraged by streaming with a small community. It is normal (for now) and it is also a good thing in my opinion.
Warning, un-scientific, un-quantifiable opinion ahead don't @ me...
It's going to take time and work to build your community in creative... more so than any other category. There are top
#creative streamers with years of experience and extreme polish, who garner sub-10K followers. One of the longest standing and original Twitch partnered streamers in creative was still under 65K followers as of this writing.
Many times watching other creative streamers... a new viewer will comment something to the effect of "I didn't even know this was possible." or "I never knew this was happening on Twitch."
The Big Raid
It makes your raid extra special and rewarding for a creative streamer when a relatively-massive raid comes through. Its a little adrenaline shot that most of the time we don't assume is coming.
Big raids from gaming streams or otherwise to creative help boost awareness of
#creative channels. People who might not have been aware it is going on get something new and interesting to check out.
Creative is real and we are having a lot of fun streaming. Jump in there and hang out with some creative streamers. Learn a new craft or chill when you feel like changing it up. It will probably be a few years before we can properly return the favor of a massive raid but know that your support is greatly appreciated and means a lot to us.
Don't believe me?
Here are some numbers to illustrate the impact.
All of this to say, thank you and welcome to
